Calvary Chapel FREDERICKSBURG

Calvary Chapel FREDERICKSBURG is a non-denominational church body. In other words, we do not attach ourselves to any denomination nor do we pay monies to any centralized authority. CCF is like- minded and loosely affiliated with other Calvary Chapels, but we are independent and autonomous in our founding and on-going ministry.

Our supreme desire is to know Christ and be conformed to His image by the power of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. We “hang our hat” on the Lord Jesus Christ, so to speak, and not to any other “name”. There is a lot of confusion; traditions; hype; false teaching; and outright heresy replacing sound Biblical truth, godliness, worship, guidance, and humility in the churches today. At CCF we simply look to the Word of God for truth, life, and eternity…. and desire to be free from the hang ups, abuses, hypocrisy, and pride that plague the Lord’s church. We come together each week as the body of Christ to worship God in studying through the Bible, prayer, sharing life, and once monthly coming together in the Lord’s communion. In other words, we do life together as the body of Christ.

CCF is not a “charismania” church in that we do not seek experiential Christianity in the hype to prove out our faith or belief, rather we believe and seek to be faithful servants and stewards of our Lord God as He faithfully proves out His existence and trueness in our church and personal Christian lives. We don’t do “crazy” at CCF. We do not seek to elevate an emotional or ridiculous high, but rather we seek to elevate our relationship with Jesus Christ. We seek to be thoughtful in our walk with Christ and we desire discipleship and sanctification towards God for everyone in the church. Calvary Chapel pastors vary in personality and experience but there are distinctives in theological doctrines/beliefs that make Calvary Chapel unique, which define our life and mission.

CCF holds a high view of Scripture and believes in a literal interpretation and view of the Scriptures and rejects the general and/or regular allegorizing and spiritualization of Scripture.

CCF seeks the Scriptures for all authority in the church and life.

CCF recognizes the broad ministry of the Lord Jesus and His exercising of His will in the church and mission whereby the Holy Spirit is not limited in His outpouring among the people of God within His will and pleasure to the enlargement of His eternal kingdom and to His glory alone.

CFF rejects the abuses of the “gifts of the Holy Spirit”.

CCF believes the Lord continues to establish the offices of evangelist, pastor and teacher within the church body to build upon the foundation laid by the apostles, prophets, and Jesus Christ himself, to proclaim His gospel message and make disciples in all the world.

CCF rejects the re-establishment of new “apostles and prophets” equal to and/or empowered as the first century apostles and prophets.

CCF does not take part in “Social Justice Movements” or “woke” ideology or “cancel” culture practices. CCF rejects LBGTQ+ religion as having any standing in the church of Jesus Christ; and furthermore, CCF does not recognize the LBGTQ+ religion to have any intrinsic moral value or upward societal value.

CCF rejects the politicization of the church and pulpit and will stand against the “gates of hell” by standing firm in what is righteous in the sight of God’s Holy Word no matter a political party or persuasion.

CCF rejects the weakening of the authority and command of God through liberal or loose theological interpretations of the Bible and/or societal pressure and influence upon Jesus Christ’s church.

CCF rejects “replacement theology” wherein the Church has replaced Israel in its essence and future.

CCF does not condone fundamentalist and/or strict Reformed or Calvinistic doctrines of the faith.

CCF believes in the future literal pre-tribulation rapture of the Church; the future literal Ezekiel 38-39 war; the future literal seven year tribulation and judgment upon the earth; the future literal pre-millennial return (2nd Coming) of Jesus Christ; His subsequent future literal 1000 year reign upon the earth; the future literal gathering of His elect Israel and the fulfillment of the Abrahamic, Land, and Davidic covenants; and His future literal final judgment for all humanity to either eternal glory or eternal destruction; the future literal new heaven and earth, and finally, the New Jerusalem.

CCF seeks to bring honor and glory to the LORD God in all its life and ministry. Our delight is first Jesus Christ, then sharing the love of Christ in word, relationship, and discipleship.

COME TO WORSHIP…. EXPERIENCE REVIVAL…. BE AWAKENED….

We believe worship of God should be spiritual. Therefore, we remain flexible and yielded to the leading of the Holy Spirit to direct our worship.

We believe worship of God should be intelligent. Therefore, our services are designed with great emphasis upon the teaching of the Word of God that He might instruct us how He should be worshipped.

We believe worship of God should be inspirational. Therefore, we give great place to music in our worship.

We believe worship of God should be fruitful. Therefore, we look for His love in our lives as the supreme manifestation that we have been truly worshipping Him.

We believe in the inerrancy of Scripture, that the Bible, Old and New Testaments are the inspired, infallible Word of God; a complete and final revelation of God.

We believe in one personal, transcendent, and holy God; the sovereign creator of all. He is eternal and He manifests Himself in three separate persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human, becoming a man and obediently finishing all things the Father had required of Him even unto death on the cross, and that He is the promised Messiah; that He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, provided for the atonement of our sins by His substitutionary death on the Cross, was bodily resurrected by the power of the Holy Spirit, ascended back to the right hand of God the Father, and ever lives to make intercession for us.

We believe in the person and work of the Holy Spirit who indwells, seals, and empowers every believer, baptizing them into the Body of Christ. We further believe all the gifts of the Holy Spirit are valid for today if they are exercised within scriptural guidelines. We as believers are to covet the best gifts, seeking to exercise them in love that the whole Body of Christ might be edified. We believe that love is more important than the most spectacular gifts, and without this love all exercise of spiritual gifts is worthless.

We believe that all people are by nature separated from God and responsible for their own sin, but that salvation, redemption, and forgiveness are freely offered to all by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. When a person repents of sin and accepts Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord, trusting Him to save, that person is immediately born again and sealed by the Holy Spirit, all his/her sins are forgiven, and that person becomes a child of God, destined to spend eternity with the Lord.

We believe Jesus Christ is the head of the Body, His church, and that church government should be simplistic rather than a complex bureaucracy. We desire to be led by the Holy Spirit in all the functions and directions of the ministry if the church.

We seek to teach the Word of God in such a way that its message can be applied to an individual’s life, leading that person to greater maturity in Christ.

We seek the unity of the Holy Spirit in the bond of peace and love and believe that God has called us to a unique ministry that fulfills His special purposes in this time.

We look to the Word of God for the basis of all our faith and practice.
